The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
