The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually pressed up the price of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints in the world, one service is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
